[EN] The two judges were measuring the distance of a throw, with an assistant present to record the measurement. Two of the heavies were watching to see the result. I did not know what event had just taken place because I arrived to the field quite late. It’s interesting to see people wearing kilts in Jakarta Highland Gathering, which in this case one of the judges and the two heavies were wearing kilts. My teenage daughter would love to wear one, but I don’t know where we can get one for her. We can always order from overseas, but I’m sure it’s expensive. They seem to be made of fine quality fabrics.

Saya tidak tahu event apa yang baru saja dilakukan karena saya datang terlambat kelapangan ini. Selalu menarik melihat orang-orang memakai kilt di Jakarta Highland Gathering, dalam foto ini, salah satu juri dan kedua pelempar mengenakan kilt. Anak remaja perempuan saya ingin memakai kilt, tetapi saya tidak tahu dari mana bisa mendapatkannya. Bisa saja pesan dari luar negeri, tetapi saya yakin harganya pasti mahal. Kilt sepertinya terbuat dari bahan yang berkwalitet baik.

[EN] I went to the Safari Park today. These two camels are two of its inhabitants. The Safari Park is about one and a half hour drive from Jakarta. I’ll upload some more pictures of the Safari Park in a few days time.

[EN] This group of Asian dancers just performed a dance on the stage. Before this group, there was another group performing a Middle East kind of dance. This is what I like about Jakarta Highland Gathering. It’s not all about the Scottish tradition, but it’s a festivity that brings about different cultures.
[ID] Grup penari ini baru saja melakukan tarian diatas panggung. Sebelum grup ini, ada grup satu lain yang melakukan tarian Timur Tengah. Ini adalah hal yang saya sukai mengenai Jakarta Highland Gathering, bukan saja acara ini mengenai tradisi Skotlandia, tetapi ini adalah suatu perayaan untuk bermacam-macam kultur.

[EN] I went to the 32nd Jakarta Highland Gathering today. The last time I had gone to this event was in early 1990′s. Now that photo-blogging becomes a hobby of mine, I plan to go to the event every year. According to the Jakarta Highland Gathering magazine, there are three Australian axemen: John Coffey, Adam Arbuthnot and Brett Cole. If you know which of the three, the two blokes in the picture are, then please let us know.
