[EN] Taman Ismail Marzuki is a arts and cultural center, but it also has a planetarium that is often visited by school children where they can learn about stars and planets. The center is named after a famous Indonesian composer, Ismail Marzuki. The photograph shows a statue depicting the composer with the planetarium in the background.

[ID] Taman Ismail Marzuki adalah pusat kesenian, tetapi ada planetarium yang sering didatangi anak-anak sekolah dimana mereka dapat belajar bintang-bintang dan planet-planet. Pusat kesenian tersebut diberi nama dari komposer Indonesia, Ismail Marzuki. Foto diatas patung dari komposer tsb dengan planetarium dibelakangnya.

Monas from Taman Menteng, Jakarta

[EN] From Taman Menteng, you can see Monas (the National Monument) – in the photograph, the monument near the upper right corner, seen from afar. The golden flame (actually, it is covered by gold foil – according to Wikipedia) symbolizes Indonesia’s spirit in fighting for independence (in the ’40s).

[ID] Dari Taman Menteng, terlihat Monas (Monumen Nasional). Api keemasan (yang menurut Wikipedia dilapisi dengan emas) adalah simbol semangat perjuangan untuk kemerdekaan (ditahun 40-an).
