Cirebon Station

20 August 2011

[EN] Cirebon is a town to the east of Jakarta in West Java. According to Google Map, from Jakarta, it is 241 km by road and it would take 3 hours 37 minutes to travel by car. I think it would take more than that. By train it took us around 4 hours.

[EN] We stayed at Grage Hotel. It is pronounced gra-ghe, but I sometimes like to pronounce it as greyj, which sounds similar like when you say garage.

[ID] Kami menginap di Hotel Grage, dibaca gra-ge, tetapi terkadang saya ingin menyebutnya greyj, hampir seperti kalau kita menyebutkan ‘garage’ dalam bahasa Inggris.

Exhausted in Cirebon

17 August 2011

[EN] After doing the activities all morning and after having lunch, we were all so exhausted. Our friend, Dicky Widyaksana, took a nap right next to the low tables where we had our lunch. Dicky is a big man, someone that you don’t want to mess with. He still doesn’t know that I took this photo. I hope he doesn’t mind when he finds out. :) … You’re cool, Dicky!

The other day, I tried to talk Dicky into joining a rugby union team. Teams like Banteng or Jago Doeloe need a big tough man like him, someone who would be difficult to tackle. When the rugby union season starts again, I will take him to a game and see if he would want to join.

[ID] Setelah melakukan banyak aktifitas dipagi hari dan setelah makan siang, kami semua capek sekali. Teman kami, Dicky Widyaksana, tidur langsung disebelah meja makan. Dicky orangnya besar, salah kalau kita sampai berkelahi dengannya. Dia masih belum tahu bahwa saya ambil foto ini. Saya harap dia tidak keberatan diwaktu dia lihat foto ini. :) … You’re cool, Dicky!

[EN] Daniel Sitompul is the man! He jumped off the tower and cut through the air with style. It’s not Daniel Sitompul if the act is not done with style. He is quite a character. Fun to have him in our team. He livens up the office. Without him, it wouldn’t be so much fun [...]

Outbound Activity, Cirebon

I had gone on it before him taking a longer time than necessary. I don’t like heights. [ID] Sesudah bersosialisasi dengan orang-orang daerah di sawah mereka, [...]

Riding the Andong, Cirebon

[EN] One of the activities in our office division outing was to ride these andongs (horse drawn carriage; or is it dokar? … it’s called one of those, anyway). We were going through these small streets going to the padi and other fields. I took a few snaps and couldn’t get the camera level as [...]

Fun Train Ride, Jakarta to Cirebon

[EN] Our office division went outing in April to Cirebon, about 4 hours by train from Jakarta towards the east. The train carriage that we were in was fun. It was exclusive for our group (about 15 of us) and it had a karaoke so we all could entertain ourselves. The carriage reminds me of [...]
