Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta

[EN] Taman Ismail Marzuki is a arts and cultural center, but it also has a planetarium that is often visited by school children where they can learn about stars and planets. The center is named after a famous Indonesian composer, Ismail Marzuki. The photograph shows a statue depicting the composer with the planetarium in the background.

[ID] Taman Ismail Marzuki adalah pusat kesenian, tetapi ada planetarium yang sering didatangi anak-anak sekolah dimana mereka dapat belajar bintang-bintang dan planet-planet. Pusat kesenian tersebut diberi nama dari komposer Indonesia, Ismail Marzuki. Foto diatas patung dari komposer tsb dengan planetarium dibelakangnya.

I like it when cultural centers are named after composers, poets and other artists – ours are usually named after politicians or the companies that sponsor the building and I think it’s just horrible.
